We’re excited to announce the following shows for our next upcoming season. To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we’ve selected shows that RTP has previously performed:
Guys and Dolls (musical)
music and lyrics by Frank Loesser
book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows
The Rocky Horror Show (musical)
book, music and lyrics by Richard O’Brien
Our Town (drama)
written by Thornton Wilder
Something’s Under the Bed (children’s musical)
written by Marcia Gunder Schneider
The Foreigner (comedy)
written by Larry Shue
The shows are listed in no particular order, and we do not have any audition or performance dates at this time. We are currently seeking directors for each show, so if you are interested, please send an email with your name and phone number to Tahrea Maynard at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive an application. The application deadline for “Guys and Dolls” is March 30; the deadline for any of the other shows is May 30.
As part of our 50th Anniversary Season celebration, we asked our patrons to vote for their favorite musical in an online survey, and “Guys and Dolls” was the clear winner. Previously performed as part of our 1977-1978 season, this show will be revived in our 2017-2018 season, along with other great shows from RTP’s past, and we’re still looking for talented directors to bring these shows to the stage. Send an email with your name and phone number to Tahrea Maynard at email@example.com to receive an application.
We’re very close to announcing our 50th Anniversary season, but first we need talented directors who wish to be a part of our 2017-2018 season. If you are interested in directing a show with us next season, please send an email with your name and phone number to Tahrea Maynard at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will respond with an application form and more information about the process. We are looking forward to a very exciting season!
We would like to thank Victor Aume and Loretta Palmer (above) for writing “Richie III.” One of our goals as a theater is to foster an appreciation of the arts in our community, and there’s no better way to achieve that goal than to present works of art created by our very own community members. It was our pleasure to produce “Richie III.” This wasn’t the first locally written show we’ve presented, and we are certain it will not be the last.
The worldwide premier of “Richie III” opens this Friday, January 13 at 7:30 PM and runs through January 22. This is a completely new and original show written by local authors, Victor Aume and Loretta Palmer. This inventive show sets the famous Shakespeare story on an elementary school playground, with a lot more humor and relatable themes. You do not want to miss this unique family-friendly show!
